Neon Notes - August 25, 2015

Hello Hello Hi Hola! This is Nat, aka: NeonGnats! Your humble, yet amazing server owner and administrator. I wanted to share news about the server, updates, and just general server stuff. The more users that come to the server, the harder it is to keep up on whats going on and what we may want to accomplish as a team. Currently, we now have 5 users including myself that have been on the server.

--First off, I want to talk security.--

Until security issues are cared for, the address to the server has not been made public. I had a nice long discussion with Belkin tech support about accessing network security from anywhere in the world. "It is not possible Nathaniel. Not at all possible." Giridaharan tried to explain to me. The problem though... Rich and I accessed it on about 5 different devices of 3 different networks of various securities all 5 miles away from the actual physical network. So, I am on the hunt for a new network security infrastructure, then will open the doors. The current world (Snowblind) will be reserved as a private map for those of us who put some work into it.

If you trust someone enough, then I'm ok with it. But, as much as I want to troll some current residents, I refrain because I like what we got going on here. Multiple people on a map, respecting each others space (for the most part), and doing what they do! I really enjoy seeing what others have done.

--Current Events--

Subways between continents are being installed. There is a need for gold to craft powered rails. If you have any materials you can contribute to this, please place them in the comunity chest box, located at the Snowblind Base/Spawn point materials room. You can also place them in the appropriate material chests. 

This base is also undergoing renovation to best suit the expanding of the server.

Paul and I both have been working on getting the world mapped out for everyone. Pauls maps on display at his house are smaller than the maps I'm working on, but this does have its advantages as well. The large world maps don't contain nearly the detail as a smaller map does. But, I've been working on getting as large a map as possible so that I can make a map like this one to chart where things are and mark points of interest. These maps will continue to be updated the more that is explored. Precise coordinates may also be added at a later time.

Did you know: Maps can be copied! Feel free to copy a map, especially incomplete maps. Copied maps will display the same on every map, giving full view for all. To clone a map, take a map and add an empty map that has yet to be used. But, if you copy someones map, please return that map back to where you found it.

You may notice on the over-world map a few Water Temples. So far, I believe there are 4 discovered. There is one that Paul has made trail to, and one other is on this map, but don't remember exactly where it is. Like I said, map will be updated as it goes. So, get equipped if you would like to be part of an expedition to claim a temple. Actually... We really should get on raiding these temples... The main loot after defeating the Elder Guardians is blocks of gold, which previously stated is needed. Recommended you get yourselves some water breathing potions (made from Puffer Fish) and boots with Depth Strider enchantments. If you having struggles getting puffers, enchant your rod at the Snowblind HQ! A brew stand and anvil are also available here.

Be sure to hang tight onto any Ender Pearls you gather so we can locate a stronghold. The Nether Dragon is out there and need slayed!

Oh yeah, and don't forget to slaughter any wither skellys you can! Looting enchantment on your sword helps, but it's still an insane grind to get those 3 skulls.

I don't know what else to jot about. Just stay out of my yard you rascally kids!
